Case Study Kava

We started this job with a brief, a logo and a café under construction.

We began discussions in November 2017 and was finally fitted and finished in December 2018, so it was a long process, but we were happy to be along for the ride.

The customer needed a few different signage solutions including a projecting sign, a coffee stencil and an illuminated external sign. Due to the café being refurbished in stages and a limited budget, the job took a while to go from initial enquiry to completion.

We came up with a couple of ideas for the external signage, all with different budgets to give the customer a full understanding of what they could achieve. They decided to move forward with 3D illuminated Letters, fitted with back trays to produce a Halo effect. To do this we used white 3D letters with a clear acrylic to the back, the LED’s were housed inside the 3D letters and when switched on would reflect through the back clear acrylic panel, shining the light onto the wooden backboard.

This will then give it a halo effect with the light shining behind the letters around the edges… The LED’s were connected to a junction box within the café which was installed by a qualified electrician.

The LED’s are evenly distributed around the inside of the letters in our workshop prior to fitting, this means that when we get onsite all we need to do it fit the sign itself and then connect the LED’s straight to the junction box.

The result was a clean cut illuminated sign that will certainly get everyone’s attention.
