Kemp waste management wanted to update their entire site signage, they needed everything from small health and safety signs on aluminium composite to instructional signage on posts! The customer was very organised and brought in a full list of basic requirements for the x30 signs in total.

The customer sat down with one of our friendly office staff members and discussed all the details including sizes, materials and designs. Once a full list of requirements was created, we could price the job accordingly. As this was a large order, we were able to keep costs down by making sure we could get all the signs out of just a couple of sheets of aluminium composite, limiting waste as much as possible.

As this was site signage, we decided to use 76mm diameter Grey Posts with caps. When using signs with posts we go by the general rule of having the post 3ft into the ground, depending on the size of the sign. To insure uniformity across the site signage we stuck to just two sizes of posts, 1200mm out of the ground and 1500mm out of the ground. The largest one out of the x30 was the 6ft x 4ft welcome sign which required x2 posts. It needed to display a lot of information including, health and safety information, contact details and opening hours, in an easy to read format.

We showed different design options for the gate and door signs, option one- green background with white writing, option two white background with green writing. The customer decided to go with option two, white background with green writing. We needed to make sure that any green used in the designs was the same CMYK colour reference as their logo. This insures that the signage matches the clients branding, forming a consistent brand message.

To improve sign visibility in low lighting or poor weather conditions, we used reflective vinyl. Reflective vinyl is readable during the day as normal but is designed to increase in visibility when stricken by any artificial light, such as headlights on a car. There are two ways of creating a reflective design, it can be done with either cut vinyl or be printed onto clear and then applied to the reflective.

We have a few different options for sign media:

Cut Vinyl – Our cut vinyl is backed with a permanent self adhesive that allows the product to be fitted to internal walls,
external and internal signs, glass and vehicles. It is an exterior grade that is made to last and comes in a variety of
colours.

Printed Vinyl – Our printed vinyl is backed with a permanent self adhesive that allows the product to be fitted to internal
walls, external and internal signs, glass and vehicles. It is an exterior grade vinyl which can be printed to, making your
designs come to life.

Wrap Vinyl – Wrap vinyl is designed for, and used most commonly, to be fitted into recessed areas and follow the
contours of a van to give a full, professional finish without any noticeable breaks in the print. It can also be used to wrap
certain 2D and 3D objects.
