The client had bought an old Church building that had been stood empty for years. They did an excellent job of converting it into modern, comfortable office spaces, all that was left to do was to finish it off with some signage. That’s where we came in!
The client wanted ‘The Chapel’ with their logo displayed on the building but weren’t quite sure how they wanted to do it. We initially created x3 proofs to show them our different ideas. Proof v1a showed The Chapel in capital letters and the logo above the windows in black aluminium composite, proof v1b showed the same design but in brushed aluminium composite, proof v1c showed the same design but with the logo in a full colour digital print. After some discussion the customer decided they preferred proof v1a but wanted to see more variations. No, we knew style the customer was after, it was just about playing with the positioning, fonts and case. V3 was then created and approved which consisted of black aluminium composite letters and logo, all upper case writing and fitted using locators to raise it off the wall.
With the new black windows, they had installed previously the finished product looked great and really complimented the building.
To apply individual lettering like this there is a certain process to make sure they all line up level with the correct spacing. To do this we print a stencil of the sign onto banner material, this is attached to the exact location of where the sign will go.
Our fitter will then take the individual letters, that have already got the locator inserts attached, line them up with the template and push the extruding part of the locator inserts to the banner causing indents into the banner material. This gives him the drilling points for the locators to go. The locators are then drilled into place, the banner template is removed, and the letters attached.
We also created an outside billboard to advertise The Chapel and all the external and internal signage for the offices. This included flat aluminium composite signs with cut vinyl, acrylic signs with cut vinyl and etch, and black aluminium composite CNC cut numbers.

We have a few different options for sign media:
Cut Vinyl – Our cut vinyl is backed with a permanent self adhesive that allows the product to be fitted to internal walls,
external and internal signs, glass and vehicles. It is an exterior grade that is made to last and comes in a variety of
colours.
Printed Vinyl – Our printed vinyl is backed with a permanent self adhesive that allows the product to be fitted to internal
walls, external and internal signs, glass and vehicles. It is an exterior grade vinyl which can be printed to, making your
designs come to life.
Wrap Vinyl – Wrap vinyl is designed for, and used most commonly, to be fitted into recessed areas and follow the
contours of a van to give a full, professional finish without any noticeable breaks in the print. It can also be used to wrap
certain 2D and 3D objects.
Do you have a logo? If so send it across to hello@penninesigns.co.uk in a high resolution PDF format to see if we can use it on your design.
Once we know the vehicle information we can use templates to create the proof, this will show you what the design will look like on a template of your vehicle (templates may not be available for rare or brand new models, in this case we will use images of your vehicle itself.
